There are Two types of rectifier Half wave rectifier and Full Wave Rectifier.
Half wave Rectifier is a device which will conduct only for Half Cycle of the signal.
Full wave Rectifier is a device which will conduct for full cycle of the signal (Both the cycle of the signal, positive and negative cycle of the signal)
Full Wave rectifier divided in to two types.
1) Centre tap rectifier
2) Bridge Rectifier
Centre Tap Rectifier: is full wave rectifier which consist of 2 diode.
Bridge rectifier: is a full wave rectifier which consist of 4 diode.

- In the above circuit diagram power supply is transformer, transformer will convert 230v AC signal into 9V AC signal which is know as step down transformer.
- when positive signal of transformer (positive half of wave) is connected to Anode of Diode then diode is forward Bias and it will conduct for positive signal.
- When negative of signal is connected to Anode of diode then diode will reverse Biased and it will act as open switch and there will be no flow current inside the circuit.
- load RL is connected at the output and Volt Output (vout) is measured acros load Rl
